Burst disks are paintball tank's primary safety features. In case pressure becomes too high in a certain area of the regulator, approaching unsafe limits, a burst disk will rupture, allowing all the pressure in your paintball tank to be released. Don't worry, while startling and often quite loud, it's not dangeous for the burst disk to blow. If that ever happens, simply replace the burst disk with a replacement disk (make sure you buy the correct pressure rating), and you'll be playing paintball again in no time.
